           Refer to your textbook and the Language Lecture

The lesson must include a music literacy component

           Refer to the Music Content Lecture for ideas and links to National Standards and TEKS

Required components must be embedded in an elementary music classroom lesson or secondary ensemble rehearsal

Lesson is to be recorded

bullet

Time frame should be 8-10 minutes

 

 

 

Procedure

Choose the grade level and classroom type (elementary grade or ensemble type and level)

Identify a lesson or rehearsal outcome

Choose the language literacy component

bullet

Choose the music literacy component

bullet

Fill out the Lesson Plan template. For lesson objectives, use Bloom's Taxonomy action verbs

Get your lesson approved. See Course Outline for due date to turn in a hard copy.

Gather materials needed for the class. You are not limited for this assignment.

Plan your recording (only you, or add some students)

bullet

Practice your lesson

bullet

Record your lesson in a classroom setting. The video should look like a classroom environment.

Upload your video to YouTube

bullet

Post the link in the Canvas Assignment tab along with your revised lesson plan

Give specific feedback to your students. Everything is not "awesome."

Try to eliminate vocal habits as much as possible.

The lesson should be self-contained. Do not include "Then I would . . . ." or any other aside comments

bullet

Be sure to highlight the language literacy portion of the lesson. That counts just as much as the music literacy element.
