Procedure

bullet

Get your notebook and dividers ASAP.  Do not wait until the end of the semester to put your notebook together.  The list below requires 10 dividers

bullet

Keep all DME materials except your notes in the DME section of the notebook

bullet

File other handouts in the appropriate section

Sections

This is not an exhaustive list.  You may find you need other sections as you use the notebook as a resource.   However, do begin with these sections and in this order as this is how they will be graded:

The first section pertains to your DME class

bullet

1 DME  - Do not put all handouts in this section.  This section is only for those papers which pertain only to this class and which cannot actually be used in an elementary classroom setting.  These would include your syllabus, review sheets, assignment instructions, schedule, etc.

The following sections will be your resources for teaching elementary music

bullet

2 Recorder  - Recorder Karate packet and other recorder arrangements

bullet

3 Orff - Orff arrangements

bullet

4 Micro-teaches - those done in class by you and your classmates

bullet

5 Bulletin Boards - handouts containing photos by you and your classmates

bullet

6 Notes - All notes you take in class and some of the handouts identified as #6. You should have notes on the following topics: Pedagogy, Classroom management, Curriculum, Special Needs, Assessment, Program/event planning
